Only 6000 bottles made, this is a great example of Crozes-Hermitage, the wild part of Rhone valley. It is a 100% Syrah expression built on a very classic but precise terroir: clay soils mixed with rolled stones, giving both structure and a natural, slightly austere mineral backbone. The approach in the vineyard and cellar is deliberately non-interventionist in technique but controlled in execution - hand-harvested grapes, fermented in open stainless steel tanks over roughly three weeks with frequent but short pumpovers.

We loved visiting the area and how raw it is - particular for this wine the élevage is equally restrained and technical: malolactic fermentation takes place in barrel, followed by around 10 months in used oak, preserving fruit clarity rather than imposing wood. if you're a fan of cherry, this is for you!
